We welcome all Ladies into this friendly members' club where you will find golf to suit your game, whatever your ability. At present we have 70 ladies playing at all levels of the game.

Teams

We have low handicap young women making up most of our ladies' first team who are currently in Division one of the Monmouthshire and Glamorgan League. Their standards are high and the team enters the annual Ladies' Welsh Team Championship. This team gave up its star player Becky Morgan to the Professional ranks in 2002. Becky has made an exceptional start to her golfing career and we watch her progress with great admiration.

Friendlies

We enjoy playing friendly matches against other local clubs in both England and Wales. As a long-established club, some of these fixtures have taken place for many years and helped us to develop friendships with Ladies in other clubs. We like to encourage new members and higher handicap players to join in these fixtures, as soon as their ability allows, to widen their experience and enjoyment.

Competitions

Our club competitions cover a range of formats with monthly medals, regular Stableford competitions and a variety of club trophy events. We also have a winter league to keep us playing in those colder months.

Girls

All our competitions are of course open to junior girls with handicaps and the junior coaching sessions of the club have helped to develop some fine young golfers at Monmouth. Ladies help with these coaching sessions and it is very rewarding to see the youngsters developing their game and enjoying their golf.

Play

We aim to encourage regular but informal groups of Ladies who meet to play a few holes together in a less competitive way. Monmouth is a beautiful and scenic course and a few holes in the company of friends followed by tea and a sandwich in our clubhouse can be a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Social Golf

We have a variety of social and mixed events where new members will be made most welcome. Quite often we will draw for partners in a social golf afternoon to mix and meet and stay for an informal meal afterwards. The Ladies section runs the two mixed opens in the club calendar and also the Ladies' open in the summer.

General

Ladies play a full part in the running of the club and are elected to the Executive Committee. We are involved in many aspects of the life of the club such as greens committee, marketing, junior golf and social activities. There is no restriction on play and the clubhouse is open for use by all members. We want everyone to enjoy his or her golf at Monmouth.
