Local Rules

  1. Out of Bounds – Rule 27 applies
    a) Beyond all boundary hedges and fences surrounding the course and all areas marked with white posts.
    b) The carparks, the Clubhouse surrounds and the practice putting green.
    c) The area defined by white stakes on the 3rd hole, when playing the 8th hole.
    d) The area surrounding the Greenkeepers Compound, balls must not be retrieved from this area.
  2. Water Penalty Areas – Rule 25 applies.
    All water penalty areas are defined by yellow stakes, lateral water penalty areas by red stakes.
  3. Ground Under Repair – Rule 25 applies.
    A ball coming to rest in a deep rut caused by greenkeeping machinery.
  4. Obstructions – Rule 24 applies
    a) Stones in bunkers are movable objects.
    b) Staked trees and those protected by rabbit guards are immovable obstructions.
    c) Artificial surfaces and sides of roads and paths are immovable obstructions.
    d) The bridges the the 6th green are an integral part of the course (relief may not be taken under rule 24).
    e) All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the
    putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty, as follows: If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club-lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which a) is not nearer the hole, b) avoids such intervention and c) is not in a penalty area or on a putting green.
    f) The white stakes on the 3rd hole, defining out of bounds when playing the 8th hole, are deemed to be immovable obstructions during the play of the 8th hole.
    g) If a ball strikes an overhead cable the player must, without penalty, cancel the stroke and replay.
